Sealed Knot Proclamation

In anticipation of the re-enactment of the Battle of Watling Street at next week’s Carnival, a contingent of the Royalists gathered outside the Crown Pharmacy (presumably from where they will get their bandages and potions post battle) to proclaim their intention to camp on the common next Saturday, 26th June between noon and 4:30pm. Greetings!

To Hys Majesties good and most loyalle citizens of Redbourn within the parish of Saint Mary

In celebration of its founding

Be it known that Hys loyalle and devoted friend and servant, the Earl Northampton… with hys retinue of foote and bye-trayne,,, on this following Satyrday… that being the 26th Daye of June

Shall be making encampment within the boundaries and parish of Redbourn on the Common ground

Goode people of Redbourn you are most welcome to make visit upon the soldiery in their encampment to see their armes and weaponry… sworde and pyke, musquette and cannone. Enquire of them their stories of courage and valour in the defence of these Kingdomes

But beware these will be souldieres tales… and may not always be for the faynte of heart. Look upon life of our modern souldier and hys family

Earles retinue with hys drums and coloures will parade through your High Street to the common ground… from 11:00am

Encampment shall welcome you all from the noone hour… 12pm until 4:30pm

GOD SAVE THE KYNGE!!!

p.s. A visit from the forces of Parliament around… 2pm… is anticipated!!!
